2014 Chevrolet Impala

2014 Chevrolet Impala
Information Specification Modification Image Review 2014 Chevrolet  Impala
A staple of rental car fleets across America, the current-generation Chevy Impala is anything but an object of desire. But with the all-new 2014 Chevrolet Impala making its world debut at the 2012 New York auto show, the Bow Tie brand is promising to erase memories of the long-running nameplate’s largely forgettable outgoing model with a more refined interior, the latest in technology, and a vastly improved driving experience when it goes on sale in early 2013.

The 10th-generation Impala is based on a stretched version of GM’s Epsilon II platform, which also underpins the Cadillac XTS and Buick LaCrosse. The car will be offered exclusively in front-wheel drive, and offer three engines to pair with a standard six-speed automatic transmission. Those direct-injection engines include a 2.4-liter I-4 with eAssist mild hybrid technology, estimated to produce 182 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque; a 2.5-liter Ecotec I-4 estimated at 195 hp and 187 lb-ft; and the familiar 3.6-liter V-6 producing 303 hp and 264 lb-ft. Those numbers are up slightly from the 3.6-liter engine in the current Impala, which produces 300 hp and 262 lb-ft. The General expects the 2.4-liter eAssist model to be EPA-rated at 35 mpg on the highway. The platform-mate LaCrosse eAssist is rated at 25/36 mpg city/highway – expect similar numbers from the 2014 Impala.

Three powertrain possibilities
Depending on your budget and desires, the Imapala can be had with one of three engines: 2.4-liter four-cylinder with eAssist, a 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder or a 3.6-liter V6. The 2.4-liter Ecotec engine is good for 182 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque, followed by 195 horsepower and 187 lb-ft of torque for the 2.5-liter four-cylinder, which is then topped by the 303 horsepower, 264 lb-ft of torque 3.6-liter VVT engine with direction injection.
All three engines come mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and drives the front wheels. Fuel economy is expected to come in at 35 highway with eAssist, 31 highway with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder, and 18 city, 30 highway with the range-topping V6.

With this glimpse inside the next Impala, we’re thrilled to see the days of GM’s pathetic grayscale cabin are (hopefully permanently) behind us. Likely a loaded LTZ model, this mule has a French-stitched dash with a large infotainment screen serving as its focal point. The touch-screen display will run the latest version of Chevy’s MyLink services. Rather than the entirely touch-sensitive CUE system in the XTS, though, expect the Impala to retain physical knobs and buttons for some of the HVAC and stereo controls.source:motortrend.com,caranddriver.com,leftlanenews.com

Top 20 Best Selling SUVs In Canada July 2014

2014 Kia Sorento SX
In July 2014 the Ford Escape expanded its Canadian SUV/crossover sales lead by 1872 units to 10,416 through the first seven months of 2014.

Its over. The Honda CR-V will not be Canadas top-selling utility vehicle in calendar year 2014, nor will the Toyota RAV4 or surging Nissan Rogue or anything other than the Escape.

Two other Fords cracked the top 13, the Edge and Explorer.

• All Makes & Models Ranked By July 2014 YTD Canadian Sales
• All SUVs/Crossovers Ranked By July 2014 YTD Canadian Sales

No premium brands positioned a SUV or crossover in this group of 20. Jeeps Grand Cherokee, however, was joined by two less costly Jeeps in the top 12, the fifth-ranked Wrangler and eighth-ranked Cherokee.

Among vehicles in the top 20, no year-over-year decline was worse than the Kia Sorentos 19% drop. Overall Kia sales fell 17% in July, as the Sportage fell 19%, the Rondo slid 55%, and car sales decreased at a 10% clip.

Historical monthly and yearly sales figures for any of these best-selling SUVs and crossovers can always be accessed through the dropdown menu at GCBCs Sales Stats page, and for those not viewing the mobile version of this site, near the top right of this page, as well. GoodCarBadCar has already published the list of Canadas best-selling trucks in July and a list of Canadas most popular cars.

However, the retro design lovers get ready to mourn the loss of a figure that has accompanied it since 2005. The reason, Ford is ready to displace the Mustang retro designs currently available with a display of futuristic concept cars, Ford Evos.

Ford himself has release Ford Evos at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011 exhibition ago. In the event, two-door sedan is luring visitors with laburan orange and hybrid technology.

By applying the design of Evos, Mustang will look overhauled in various sectors. Among them in the face that would look sharper with shark nosed grille and sharply angled light.

Although the look of Fords global design shows Evos, Kinetic Design gahar but the impression remains that radiated from the body silhouette ramps and grooves on the bumper. Reportedly, Ford Mustang eliminate the classical model to attract younger consumers.

Although 2014 is the year in which the new Mustang debuted, it appears as though well have to wait until 2015 to see if Fords pony car can outsell the Chevrolet Camaro, something the Mustang hasnt done since 2009, before the Camaro was available for a full calendar year.

The Mustang, now in production in sixth-generation form, posted a slight increase in U.S. August sales but trailed the declining Camaro by 2256 units. Chevrolet thus expanded its year-to-date lead over the Mustang to 8094 units. For the fifth and sixth-gen Mustangs to overcome that deficit by years end, the Mustang would need to outsell the Camaro by an average of 2024 units in each of the remaining four months.

For Dodge to turn 2014 into the sixth consecutive year of Challenger sales growth, Dodge will need to sell 16,706 more Challengers this year during a period in which only 12,817 Challengers were sold a year ago, a 30% rate of growth.

The Jaguar F-Type once again outsold a handful of its less costly European rivals in August 2014, besting the next-best-selling Porsche Boxster by 31 units last month. Porsche also sold 1015 911s, the first time Porsche crested the 1000-unit mark since April 2012.

BMW USA reported their first nine i8 sales in August 2014. Among the early deliveries, i8s found owners in Roger Penske, Rick Hendrick, and Tony Fadell, the founder of Nest.

^ BMW USA, not GoodCarBadCar, has chosen to combine sales figures of the 1-Series and 2-Series.
Clearly GoodCarBadCar is not suggesting that the cars in the two tables above are all direct competitors. Establishing categories among cars as unique as even the Audi TT and Porsche Boxster has never pleased a single reader, so cars have been lumped together so you can simply see how buyers looking for sports cars, roadsters, hot hatches, convertibles, GTs, and wanna-be sports cars spend their money. Greater categorization of cars would only lead to problems that automakers create by not isolating model-specific sales figures: we dont know how many M3s BMW has sold or how many Civics are Si models, for example. The numbers we do have are listed above. The BMW 6-Series has been removed from the premium list because we dont use this space as a showcase for sedans (unless automakers release data for high-end sporting models like the Lexus ISF, as Toyota Canada does) and the 6-Series lineup now relies heavily on a sedan variant. GoodCarBadCar is always open to hearing about the ways you would break down segments, so feel free to get in touch. You can always find the sales results for EVERY vehicle and form your own competitive sets by using the All Vehicle Rankings posts. Sales data for brands such as Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, Rolls-Royce etc. are unfortunately not broken down by model. ANDC estimates say sales for those brands in August 2014 were 102, 175, 59, 14, and 75, respectively. Tesla, unfortunately, doesnt release model-specific monthly U.S. sales data, but HybridCars.com estimates 1200 August Tesla sales, 10,600 YTD.

GCBC isnt here to break down segments, an impossible task for any group, but to display sales data for the sake of comparison. The more ways sales data can be displayed, the better, right? This explains why youll see the the A7 and CLS here but also with midsize luxury cars... because readers have wanted it both ways.
