The third part of the puzzle is the 2013 Lexus GS hybrid models, the GS450h. Because regular beat and F Sport version of the GS350 as the most powerful member of the family sporty new GS, we expected performance sedan. But its a hybrid, right? Is not hybrid cars on fuel economy and feel superior? Sure. But the hybrid electric motor can also be considered as an additional source of power. They can provide performance and economy; it all depends on how you drive. 

Well, in this case, the GS450h probably the most powerful members of the GS lineup, but also the most sporty bunch. GS450h blew himself up the road with the same kind of tranquility as its big brother, the LS460. There incomplete road or engine noise, this luxurious trip, and the seats are soft like butter mashed potatoes. Its a kind of luxury is a trademark Lexus, and its fun, as long as you do not expect a sports sedan. We do not like mouselike control for infotainment system Lexus, but the rest of the interior is a soothing cocoon. Hybrid dress with optional bamboo interior trim, and significantly brighten the cabin. Hold the steering-wheel rim bamboo, and hand you would guess Jaguar, Bentley, something British? 

Start GS450h, and you will see there is no tachometer, power and charging only a speedo next measure. Drive it like a Prius, and GS450h handily beats the fuel economy of gas-only GS models. In our hands, it achieves 27 mpg in a mix of highway and city driving. More careful driver should be able to match the EPA fuel economy ratings of 29 mpg city and 34 highway. 

Despite the additional power of the hybrid system, in our tests it was still the slowest member of the new GS lineup, turning in a 0-to-60-mph of 5.7 seconds. The GS350 and GS350 F Sport AWD we have tested slightly faster to 60, at 5.5 and 5.6 seconds. Passing power in hybrid better than gas-only version, however, such as the electric motor provides a boost turbolike after GS450h is up to speed.

On its own merits , in 2011 Lexus GS 350 is a good choice as a luxury sport sedan . This provides the performance , prestige , comfort and many upscale features to please some of the most discerning of buyers . Pit GS 350 against some competitors from Europe , however , and the fading appeal , as the sedan seems to do a lot of things just a little better .

The GS 350 weakness , small as they are , including a little less headroom and less responsive suspension . For the average-sized driver with little desire for athletic handling , fault is easily forgiven , because Lexus is superior in almost every other category . The cabin is quiet and calm provide comfort segments - the leading current occupant wrap top-notch materials and expert craftsmanship .

The 3.5 - liter V6 produces 303 horsepower which is enough to give the GS 350 is relatively fast acceleration , which should satisfy most luxury sedan buyers . There is also the V8 -powered GS 460 drivers for more power hungry and a little more fuel efficient hybrid GS 460h ( both are covered in a separate review ) . Regardless of which model GS you might be interested in, you can expect an abundance of standard features and state -of - the-art safety systems .

Uphold the reputation of Lexus for finely crafted interior , the cabin surrounds occupants 2011 GS 350 with supple leather and rich wood and aluminum trim . The average adult size will fit comfortably , but higher passenger might want a little more headroom - at least compared to other sedans in this class . This is especially true for those relegated to the rear center seat , which is slightly higher than the seat paste .

Our complaints are small and are less intuitive audio controls and disruptive glare of very fine wood trim . GS reclaims some points for the optional high -resolution touchscreen and navigation systems are easy to operate.
