S-Class sales more than doubled, as well, and at 1780 units, the S-Class outsold the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class, Mercedes-Benzs entry-level sedan.
There were other big luxury sedans sold in America in June. Hyundai sold 250 Equus sedans; Kia sold 224 K900s. Cadillac sold 1693 XTS sedans. The average base price of that trio is $55,117.
You can click any model name in the tables below to find historical monthly and yearly U.S. auto sales data. You can also select a make and model at GCBCs Sales Stats page. These tables are now sortable, so you can rank large luxury car flagships any which way you like. Suggestions on how GCBC should break down segments can be passed on through the Contact page.

GCBC isnt here to break down segments, an impossible task for any group, but to display sales data for the sake of comparison. The more ways sales data can be displayed, the better, right? This explains why youll see the the A7 and CLS here but also with midsize luxury cars... because readers have wanted it both ways. You can always find the sales results for EVERY vehicle and form your own competitive sets by using the All Vehicle Rankings posts. Sales data for brands such as Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, Rolls-Royce etc. are unfortunately not broken down by model. ANDC estimates say sales for those brands in June 2014 were 102, 175, 59, 14, and 75, respectively. Tesla, unfortunately, doesnt release model-specific monthly U.S. sales data, but HybridCars.com estimates 1400 June Tesla sales, 8200 YTD.

Speaking of the Charger, sales are down slightly this year but jumped 10% in August after rising 7% in July. 300 sales, however, are tumbling at a fairly serious rate.
And what of the interlopers? Americas full-size market has traditionally been controlled by American nameplates, after all, but rivals come from all over now. The Hyundai Azera and Kia Cadenza combined to fall 60% to 1033 just units in August 2014 as the Cadenza posted its second-worst full month, its worst since May of last year. Azera sales fell to their lowest level since March 2012.

* Hyundai USA, not GoodCarBadCar, chooses to combine sales figures for the Genesis sedan and Genesis Coupe, forcing us to include the Genesis with these volume-brand cars on pricing grounds before we even get to the "brand status" issue.
