The Suzuki Jimny that has been in the international market for a long time now and enjoys a cult following among its 20,000 and above loyal owners in the UK alone. Maruti Suzuki India has been thinking of bringing the SUV in the country for quite some time now.

The model was presented on the Indian soil back in 2012 to gauge the initial public reaction. But so far, no official movement has been made by the automaker yet. If launched, the Jimny SUV will be positioned as an entry-level SUV and will be slotted between the Maruti Suzuki Gypsy and the Grand Vitara.

For the model year 2013, the revised Jimny SUV has received a number of visual updates in the form of a new front bumper, new grille, a new bonnet shape incorporating central air intake and the fog lamps have been repositioned as well.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny Engine Specifications

Powering the Jimny SUV is a 1.3-litre engine that benefits from variable valve timing, which in-turn ensures lively performance and a strong fuel economy. The said engine is capable of putting out 85PS of max power and 109Nm of peak torque.

The genuine off-roader comes with push-button selectable four-wheel drive and high and low gear ratios. Compact, light, agile and responsive, the Jimny SUV is a highly capable off-road machine.
