Hyundai Verna Facelift upcoming cars 2015
Hyundai Verna Facelift
When to expect May 2015 Estimated price 7.50 - 12 lakhs |
Hyundai Verna Facelift Preview
The current generation of the Hyundai Verna was launched in 2011 and took no time to become the best-seller in the C-segment cars in India. However, though the car is still popular for its fluidic design, refined diesel mill and performance, it is facing the heat from the new Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz that are enjoying a good demand here. Now Hyundai plans to address this with the facelifted model of the Verna that might be launched in mid 2015.
Exterior
The vehicle has been spotted without any camouflage and is similar to the one showcased at the Beijing Auto Show in China. The fascia sports a new bonnet on which the crease lines differ from those on the current one. The car features new head lamps that are bigger in size and swept back almost till the axle position. The front bumper also has been redesigned and it features new fog lamps. Though the silhouette of the car still remains the same, the side profile boasts of new diamond-cut alloy wheels. The tail lamps and bonnet shape seems to have been carried over from the current version of the car, but we expect the lights to incorporate LED strips for illumination. The rear bumper is also revised which gets two new big reflectors.
Interior
The changes inside the cabin are expected to be negligible and the new car might carry over the same layout and design for the refreshed car. A new addition could be that the company might equip the car with a new seven-inch touchscreen with navigation.
Engine and Gearbox
The new facelifted Verna might be powered by the same 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diesel and petrol engines. The petrol variant will be mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and the diesel will come paired to the six-speed manual. There are speculations that apart from the current four-speed automatic, the six-speed automatic transmission might also be offered.
Price and Competition
The revised Hyundai Verna might be priced in the range of Rs 7.5 lakh to Rs 12 lakh and will make a comeback, fighting fiercely against the Honda City and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, while also competing with the Volkswagen Vento, Renault Scala, Nissan Sunny and the Skoda Rapid.
